PHP Programming
PHP is a server-side scripting language that is most commonly used on Linux servers. PHP code can be put into the HTML files that make up a website. However, the server processes the code BEFORE it is sent to the client browser. The code itself is not visible in the browser source file; only the HTML output.
An advantage that PHP offers is the ability to directly connect to relational databases using full featured internal functions. It supports a number of database types including Oracle, DB2, mSQL and MySQL. Although MySQL is most often used.
Popular publishing platforms that use PHP include WordPress and Drupal. Famous PHP driven websites include YouTube and Facebook.
